Me on the Puntarenas Ferry

Sunday, December 23rd.

Today we were on route to Santa Teresa for our second week stay here in Costa Rica. We got a last swim at Pueblo Real’s gorgeous swimming pool before hitting the road. Pueblo Real was an unexpected delight. Our room was great with everything we needed. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living area, kitchen and a balcony with amazing pool and garden view. We found loads of surf nearby. All in all a great Surf Family spot.

Anyway, the journey continues! We stopped at Jaco for an hour to do some last minute Christmas shopping before heading to catch the Ferry at Puntarenas. We then made our way to Santa Teresa. The last 10km of the journey was dirt pot holed road which added to journey in a grungy, off the beaten track kind of way. But Santa Teresa is definately on the beaten track! It is busy but for a good reason. It is awesome. Great surf, beautiful beach, nice vibe, good choice of accommodation, brilliant restaurants.

We checked into Ranchos Itauna and so far we are delighted. We are right on the beach in between the main Santa Teresa and Playa Carmen surf breaks.
